  • 1 bunch asparagus Fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use panko for extra crunch if desired
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Can substitute with pecorino or omit
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg Beaten for coating

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Trim the asparagus and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Coating
  1. Dip each asparagus spear in the beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  2. Place the coated asparagus in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through.
Serving
  1. Serve hot as a side dish or snack with dips like ketchup, ranch, or aioli.

Notes

For extra crunch, press the crumbs onto each spear well. Store leftover fries in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to regain crispiness.
